Alexander Kormos, age 92, of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday May 19, 2018, at Walden's View.  He was born June 28, 1925 in Wendel, WV, a son of the late George and Esther Kormos.

 Alexander was a member of St. Agnes Parish, North Huntingdon and a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army.   Prior to his retirement, Alexander was employed as an assistant manager for A&P,  worked for Westinghouse Airbrake and was a USPS mail carrier.  He enjoyed reading westerns, walking and gardening.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Esther Patricia Schlereth Kormos; brother, George Kormos; and sister, Margaret Skiba.   He is survived by his son, Richard and his wife, Cheryl; three daughters, Patricia Zvonar and her husband, Steve, Pamela Kormos, Caroline Zihmer and her husband, Joseph; sister, Helen Holmes; grandchildren, Bethany Kormos, Patrick Kormos (Sara), Michael Zihmer; and great-grandchildren, Alexander and Howard.  Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.  Interment in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.   www.shirleyfuneralhome.com
