Charles W. Carter, age 91, of Liberty Boro, died on July 3, 2018. He was born on December 15, 1926 in McKeesport, the son of the late Wayne and Elizabeth Sarie Carter. 

Charles worked at US Steel Corporation – Irvin Works until his retirement in 1994. He was a 70 year member of Mon Yough Church Dartball and became a member in their Hall of Fame in 1990. Charles was also a member of the Turner Bowling League, Knights of Pythias, and VFW Post 3368 of Mt. Pleasant. He was an avid hunter, raising basset hounds, and was also a policeman and ambulance driver for Liberty Boro.

He is survived by children, Wayne (Thong Poon) Carter of Gettysburg and Cathy (Robert) Rajcan of North Huntingdon; brothers, Gordon Carter and Joseph Carter of McKeesport; grandchildren & great grandchildren; many nieces & nephews; and dogs, Mikki and Milie.

Charles is preceded in death by his late wife, Christine Emery Carter; brother, Morgan Carter; and sister, Rosemary Butler.

Friends and family will be received at Striffler’s of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, Supervisor, 412-678-6177) on Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 2:00pm until the time of service at 5:00pm in the funeral home chapel.
