Nelda M. Opfer, age 89 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away at home on Saturday, July 7, 2018.  Born May 13, 1929 in Huntington, PA, she was a daughter of the late John B. and Esther M. (Garner) Shoemaker.  A retired salesclerk at KMart in North Versailles, Nelda was a member of Bethesda United Presbyterian Church in Elizabeth. 

She joins her husband, the late Harry C. Opfer, who passed away December 9, 2017.  Nelda is survived by her children E. Gayle (Emil) Sujeta of Elizabeth Twp., Cynthia L. (Matthew) Mayersky of Elizabeth Twp., and Harry C. (Tama) Opfer, Jr. of Belle Vernon; her five grandchildren Alan, Amanda, Melanie, Ashley, and Amber; her great-granddaughter Maranda; and also nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 N. 2nd. Ave., Elizabeth, PA 15037 (412-384-4344) on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM.  A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 10 AM with Pastor Walt Pietschmann officiating.  Procession and burial will follow to Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp.  www.bekavacfuneralhome.com
