Robert C. Smith, 91, of North Huntingdon, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018 at his home.  He was born August 20, 1926 in East Pittsburgh, Pa., a son of the late John and Sarah Host Smith.

 Prior to his retirement, Robert was a machinist for Westinghouse with 46 years of service and was a veteran of the US Army having served during WWII.    He enjoyed the outdoors, especially spending time at his camp with his family.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Sue Smith.  He is survived by his loving wife, Sophie Sidney Smith; sons, Gary Smith and his wife, Linda, Robert Smith; daughter, Sherrill Plecenik and her husband, Dennis; grandchildren, Jennifer (Josh), Adam, Greg (Stephanie), Aaron (Lisa), Justin (Christy); great-grandchildren, Aaron, Nevada, Savannah and Brady.  Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon on Sunday from 2-7 p.m.  A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.  Entombment to follow in McKeesport & Versailles Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to AseraCare Hospice, 300 Penn Center Blvd., Suite 602, Pittsburgh, PA  15235.  www.shirleyfuneralhome.com.
