Virginia "Ginny" Perlick, age 82, of Clairton passed away peacefully on Friday, July 20, 2018 at home while surrounded by family. Virginia attended Clarion University where she studied Library Science and English. She worked as a teacher, spending the greatest part of her career at St. Elizabeth Elementary School in Pleasant Hills. An avid reader, she devoted her retirement years to the Clairton Public Library, surrounded by her love of books. For more than 50 years, Virginia enjoyed playing cards with her card club group. She was known to be extremely kind, compassionate and funny.
Born March 3, 1936 in Clairton, she was the daughter of the late Vincent Paul and Dorothea (Herring) Hartman. She was the beloved mother of Milan Rick Perlick, Patti (Bob) Guidish, Christine Perlick and Paul (Marie) Perlick, and former spouse of Richard T. Perlick. Virginia was loved and adored by her seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sisters, Genevieve Hartman and Meryl Ferrare, and brother, Thomas J. Hartman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothea Conticello and Patricia Lewis. A Memorial Mass will take place on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 10 AM at St. Clare of Asssisi Parish in Clairton. Arrangements by the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth.
