Martha Marie Heatherington, age 94, of Naples, Florida, formerly of Greenock, PA died Sunday, July 29, 2018. She, an Irish blessing, was born March 17, 1924 in McKeesport, the daughter of the late Amil and Freida Ditter Duval and the wife of the late Joseph F. Heatherington.

Martha was a member of the former St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in McKeesport. She was an Irish blessing of unconditional love for her family and friends. A resilient woman with decades of style and confidence, she was able to find contentment in every situation. She truly enjoyed reading, celebrations and gifts. A favorite of Martha’s were sweets, so the family will celebrate her life with green jello and grasshoppers.

Martha was the matriarch of a family that was raised with her love and Jesus Christ’s love. She is survived by her sons, John “Jack” J. (Mary Ann) of Irwin, Kenneth C. (Debra) of Durham, NC, Gary P. (Linda) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Richard M. of Houston, TX, Scott R. (Cheryl) of Port Orange, FL; grandchildren, Benjamen Heatherington, Kelly Begg, Molly Kauffman, Teresa Tellez, Landon Heatherington, Marie Antonopoulos, Martha LeBlanc, Garrett Heatherington, Ryan Heatherington, Chelsea Weitekamp, Erica Heatherington, Tara Heatherington, Whitney Stange; great-grandchildren, Christian, Collin, Madison, Zachary, Katelyn, Ella, Quinton, Juniper, Piper, Rowe, Gavin, Robbie, Grayson, Jo, Cora; and niece, Martha “Marci” Strunck of Greensburg, PA. She was preceded in death by her son, William D. Heatherington and sister, Margaret Strunck.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, August 3, 2018, from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131, (D. James Heatherington, Funeral Director, 412-678-6177). Funeral liturgy outside of mass will be held Saturday August 4, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Fr. Kevin Dominik officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
