Frances (Homa) Gatto, age 87, of Forward Township, passed away on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Arden Courts. She retired as a clerk for Pennsylvania American Water Company in Elizabeth. She was a member of Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church in McKeesport where she taught Religious Education for 65 years, receiving special recognition from the bishop for her years of service. A former clerk at the Glass House in Glassport, she was an avid sports fan and enjoyed bowling and softball.

Born June 25, 1931 in Elizabeth, she was a daughter of the late Anthony Homa Sr. and the late Anna (Kozonich) Homa. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Nicholas J. Gatto Jr.; brothers, Donald Homa of Wilton, CA, and Anthony (Janet) Homa of Blaine Hill; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Leona "Dolly" Gephart. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the administration and staff at Arden Courts and ViaQuest Hospice for their care and compassion. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 6-8 PM and Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM with a Panachida Service Wednesday at 7 PM. A Funeral Liturgy will take place on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 1 PM at Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church with Fr. Dimitri D. Ermakov officiating. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills. Memorial contributions may be made to Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church, 330 Shaw Avenue, McKeesport, PA 15132.
