Frank B. Connors, age 102, of Elizabeth, passed away the day after his 102nd birthday on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Grandview Estates of Elizabeth. He was the “last man standing” of his siblings. He retired as a conductor for the Union Railroad. An Army veteran having served in World War II, he was a lifetime member of the Elizabeth Moose and an avid hunter and fisherman.
Born September 23, 1916 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late James and Lillian (Cherrill) Connors and husband of the late Evelyn (Miller) Connors. He is survived by children, Connie (Tom) Henrich and Russell (Diane) Connors; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Shannon and Renee Henrich and furbabies Buck and Camo, Patrick and Courtney Connors and son Finnegan, Shelby (Nick) Connors and Joe Palmer and son Brian Tuttle; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by sons, Frankie and Ted Connors. Thank you to the staff of Grandview Estates for their loving compassion and care; special thanks to Joey; and to Elmer, Dad’s dining buddy. Also, special thanks to neighbors Tom and Carol Konwick for their help throughout the years. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 12 Noon in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jeff Marton officiating. Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp.
