John R. Kiesel, 92, of North Huntingdon, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018. He was born February 14, 1926 in Swissvale, a son of the late Joseph and Gertrude K. (Rulley) Kiesel. Prior to his retirement, John was a bricklayer for US Steel and a veteran of the US Navy, having served during WWII on the USS Denver. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Lois J. (Ludwig) Kiesel; and son, John W. Kiesel. He is survived by his sons, Gary E. Kiesel and Ronald S. Kiesel; daughters, Helen L. Jones and Robin K. Berkow; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA.
