David A. Galiyas, Jr., 29, of San Francisco, CA, formerly of Dexter, MI, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019. He was a purchaser for Apple, Inc., a 2007 graduate of Detroit Catholic Central High School, a 2011 graduate of the University of Notre Dame and a 2018 graduate of the Carnegie Mellon University Business School. A U.S. Navy veteran, he was a former member of St. Joseph Parish in Dexter, MI.
Born June 7, 1989 in Monterey, CA, he was a son of David A. and Grayce M. (Mowry) Galiyas of California, MD. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Jennifer (Mizel) Djukic of Arlington, VA; brother, Alexander Galiyas of California, MD; nephews, Julian and Aidan Djukic; maternal grandmother, Leila Mowry of Derry; godmother, Mary Beth (Kevin) Moore of Peters Township; godfather, G. Victor (Cynthia) Mowry of Derry; also, aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 3-8PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 9:30 AM in St. Michael Parish with Rev. Zachary Galiyas officiating.
