Albert J. Ragan, age 85, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019 at Allegheny General Hospital. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he retired as a superintendent of production planning and chief metallurgist for U.S. Steel Clairton Works. He was a member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth Twp. where he served as an usher.
Born May 14, 1933 in Duquesne, he was a son of the late John and Teresa (Jacuba) Ragan and husband of the late Marlene (Frank) Ragan. He is survived by sons, Albert J. (Karen) Ragan of Elizabeth Twp., John E. (Nanette) Ragan of Elizabeth Twp. and James F. (Ellen) Ragan of Castle Shannon; grandchildren, Dena (Matthew) Gouveia, Nicholas, Michael (fiancee Sierra Vecchio) Ragan and Jeffrey Ragan, John (Emily) Ragan, Timothy (Connor) Ragan, Daniel and Joseph Ragan, and Erica, Lauren and Mark Ragan; siblings, Mary Adams of Bethel Park, James Ragan of Beverly Hills, CA and Thomas Ragan of Duquesne. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 6-8 PM and Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 10 AM in St. Michael Parish with Rev. Thomas A. Wagner officiating. Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp.
