Philip V. Albensi, 85, of Mt. Vernon, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.

He was the former owner of Tas-T-Donut in McKeesport and member of St. Michael Parish, Elizabeth Township and the Boston Vets. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving in both Korea and Japan. Philip's presence was also greatly appreciated with his sons' Albensi Laboratories for the past 25 years. The family would like to thank Philip's nurses, Melanie, Sheila, Lisa and Carly at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital for their wonderful care. Born February 13, 1931 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Orlando and Filomena (Rendina) Albensi. Philip is survived by his wife, Eileen (Stinson) Albensi; 4 sons, Philip O. (Donna) Albensi of Richmond, VA, Donald (Laura) Albensi of North Huntingdon, Richard (Annette) Albensi of North Huntingdon and Larry (Michele) Albensi of North Huntingdon; 10 grandchildren, Michael Albensi, Samantha (Carter) McKissick, Donald Albensi, Kristy (Angelo) Velissaris, Carly (Chris) Satterfield and Kiernan, Devin, Matthew, Alexis and Gabrielle Albensi; 2 great granddaughters, Sophia and Eva Velissaris; sister, Mary Brkovich of Elizabeth Township; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Jean Albensi and Helen Gazdick and brother, August Albensi. Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, 4504 Walnut Street, Versailles Boro, McKeesport, PA 15132 (412/678-3454) on Monday, May 2, 2016 from 6-8 PM and Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 10:00 AM in St. Michael Parish, with Rev. Thomas A. Wagner officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow to Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon.
