James Herald Cain, age 99, of Greensburg, formerly of North Versailles, passed away Friday August 30, 2019. He was born March 29, 1920 in White Valley, the son of the late Thomas and Emma Cain. He served in the Navy during World War II and then went onto work as a machinist at Westinghouse for over 35 years before retiring. He was a longtime member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church in East McKeesport and was always proud of his loving family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Mercedes Burkhardt. He is survived by his daughters Mary Lou (Stan) Uram of Jeanette and Nancy (Steve) Hudacko of Greensburg; grandchildren Patrick (Elizabeth) Hudacko, Rae Ann (Dwayne) Santivicca, Amie (Jason) Yost, Greg Martin and Michael (Sharon) Martin; 12 great grandchildren; and little sister (who is 96 years old) Agnes Sergy of Braddock.

A special thanks to grandson Mike and family, grandson Patrick and niece Ruth Ann for their devoted care during his last days. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Forgie-Snyder Funeral Home, 1032 Broadway, East McKeesport, 412-823-8083. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Robert Bellarmine Church in east McKeesport.
