Eleanor E. Zappa, age 91, formerly of Liberty Borough, died Saturday, April 25, 2020 in Florida.  She was born in Pittsburgh on November 5, 1928 and is the daughter of the late John and Julia Takacs Rozgonyi.  Eleanor is preceded in death by her husband Carl R. Zappa, Sr., and son Carl R. Zappa, Jr. 

She is survived by her daughter, Linda (George) Gobel of The Villages, FL, formerly of Liberty Borough; grandchildren, Jason (McKala) Gobel, Brandon Gobel, Summer (Nick Zabriski) Gobel, Carl Zappa III, and Colt Zappa; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Raylee Gobel; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Zappa; sister, Julia (Rudy) Verhas of Ashtabula Ohio; sister-in-law, Nancy Rozgonyi of Pittsburgh; and many nieces and nephews. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, John Rozgonyi and Eugene Rozgonyi. 

A family gathering at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (412-678-6177) was held yesterday followed by burial. There will be a service at a later date.  To share a memory or condolence, visit strifflerfuneralhomes.com
