Josephine "Minnie" (Sidone) Ward, age 84 of Pleasant Hills, passed away in her home on Saturday, June 18, 2016. Born June 9, 1932 in Clairton, she was the daughter of the late Giocondo and Maria (Mazzaferri) Sidone.

Minnie was a member of St. Thomas a' Becket Roman Catholic Church in Jefferson Hills and a retired as a sales associate after 25 years for Macy's Department Store in Century lll Mall. Minnie's family was always the most important thing to her. She leaves behind her husband of 48 years Robert D. Ward; daughter Catherine M. (James) Lockard of Harrison City; son Robert A. (Jolene) Ward of Bethel Park; grandchildren Jacob, Kaelyn and Nathan Ward, Ryan and Lauren Lockard, Sister Yolanda "Lundie" (Al) Thomas of Scott Twp.; and many nieces and nephews. Minnie was preceded in death by her siblings: Mary Stehney, Lisa Persichetti and Victor and Arthur Sidone. Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, 555 5th. St., Clairton, PA 15025 (412-233-5700) on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 10 AM in St. Thomas a' Becket Roman Catholic Church, Jefferson Hills. Procession and burial will follow to Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills. Memorial contributions in Minnie's name should be made to St. Thomas a' Becket Roman Catholic Church, 139 Gill Hall Rd.
