Carmella Ferraro, age 89 of Port Vue, passed away on June 23, 2020.  Born August 26, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Adeline (Cannelli) DiGiorgio and the beloved wife of the late Frank Ferraro for 51 years.  Carmella dedicated her life to caring for her loving family.  She was the adored mother of her son Angelo (Patricia) Ferraro of White Oak and daughter Annette (Gregory) Saul of Upper St. Clair and the cherished grandmother of her grandsons Michael, Nicholas, and Daniel Ferraro and Sean and Ryan Saul.  Carmella is also survived by her sister Norma Reza of East McKeesport.  She was preceded in death by her sister Dora Jones and her brothers: Gennaro, Joseph, Matthew and Carl DiGiorgio.  Carmella is also survived by her sisters-in-laws Sheila and Shirley DiGiorgio, many nieces and nephews, and many special, lifelong friends.

Carmella graduated from Glassport High School in 1949 and was a member of St. Mark’s Parish where she was a greeter.  She was also a volunteer at Steel Valley Center.  Carmella worked at H&H Fish Market in McKeesport for 35 years and retired at the age of 76 years old.  She also worked for 7 years at Balsamo’s Grocery Store and 6 years at Orlando’s Fruit Market.  The family would like to thank the staff from the Golden Heights Personal Care Home and the staff from Heartland Hospice services, especially nurses Laurie and Jen for their compassionate care of their mother.  Also, the family would like to thank Carmella’s home caregivers: Mary Jo, Patty, Lee, Cindi, and Jennifer.  Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, Versailles, on Friday, June 26, 2020 from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM.  A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 10 AM in the funeral home with Rev. Charles Schaller officiating.  Procession and burial will follow to Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp.
