Michael “Mike” DeRosse, age 93, of Duquesne, on July 19, 2020 at Sycamore Estates. 

Born on April 24, 1927 in Duquesne, he was the son of the late Ralph & Marie J. (Boccihia) DeRosse. He was a retired truck driver for Long’s Hauling for 40 years, a member of the former Christ the Light of the World Parish, enjoyed Marsh-Wheeling cigars, liked to bowl duck pins at the  Moose, went to numerous Hobo conventions and proudly served his country in the Army during World War II.

He was the husband of 48 years to Lorraine (Gonzales) Pawling; father of Vicki Malloy of Duquesne, Diana Fierst of Turtle Creek and Michael (Anna) Gorscak of Baldwin.  He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and nephews Alan J. Procacina, Dennis Procacina, Ralph DeRose and Joe DeRose.

He was preceeded in death by sister and brothers, Columbia Procacina, Joseph DeRose, and Charles DeRose. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 24 at 11 A.M. at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, 15110, 412-466-3300, with the Rev. James Condron officiating.  Military honors will follow. Due to current restrictions, the funeral home is limited to 25 visitors in the building at one time. The funeral home staff will be directing visitors upon entry. Masks are required.
