Scott A. McCormick, age 58 of Parkersburg, WV, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 in Camden Clark Memorial Medical Center in Parkersburg. Born August 4, 1957 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Robert S. and Agnes M. (Douglas) McCormick.

Scott loved his job and the kids he taught as a 4th grade teacher at Mineral Wells Elementary of the Wood County Board of Education. A huge WVU Mountaineers fan, he loved his family and community as well, and will be loved and missed by all he worked with. Scott is survived by his sisters Suzan (John) Katko of Carolina Beach, NC, Mindy McCormick of Port Vue, Peggy Ansell of Port Vue; his brothers Robert (Dannie) McCormick of Elizabeth, Kevin (Dawn) McCormick of Pittsburgh, Thomas (Judy) McCormick of Port Vue, and William McCormick of Liberty Borough; his nieces Jennifer, Jessica, Sarah, and Caitlin; his nephews Thomas, Patrick, Brian, Sean and Reece; his great-niece Rori; and his great-nephews Liam and Dalton. Services for Scott will be private at his and the family's request, and a memorial gathering will be held in Parkersburg at a time to be determined. Memorial contributions in Scott's name should be made to Mineral Wells Elementary School, 1776 Elizabeth Pike, Mineral Wells, WV 26150, the Mineral Wells Baseball and Softball Association, PO Box 203, Mineral Wells, WV 26150, or a charity of the donor's choice.
