Caroline G. Shorkey, 84, of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020 in Forbes Regional Hospital.
She was born February 1, 1936 in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Elmer and Helen (Waldeck) Ginter. Caroline along with her husband James, was the founder and previous owner of Courtesy Oldsmobile and Jeep, now known as the Jim Shorkey Family Auto Group, where she served numerous roles for over 30 years, including Service Manager. She was the heart of the business.
She enjoyed spending time with her faithful kitten companions, Juju and Lemieux. Carol was an avid reader, loyal Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan, and enjoyed watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and Judge Judy.
She was extremely caring, supporting numerous charities and individuals who were experiencing life’s challenges.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Shorkey Sr; brother, George "Bucky" Ginter; and granddaughter, Hannah Marie Ash. She is survived by her sons, James Jr. and his wife, Amy, M. Russell and his wife, Amy; daughters, Elaine, Melissa (Long) and her husband, David, Gretchen, Mary (Shannon) and her husband, David, Catherine (Ash) and her husband, David; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Services and interment will be private due to COVID-19. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Arrangements made by the James W.
