John R. Prokop Sr., age 87, of North Huntingdon, passed away on January 5, 2021. He was born in Port Vue on January 27, 1933 and is the son of the late Stephen and Ann Pavlik Prokop and the loving husband of Ann Bradford Prokop. He served in the United States Army. John worked many years for Western Union and Miller Hydraulic Company. He was a member of the Liberty Boro Vets Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons; Stephen (Sherrie Wittmer) Prokop of Port Vue, Michael (Deborah) Prokop of Elizabeth, John (Susan) Prokop, Jr., of Mt. Oliver, Joseph (Meg) Prokop of Brookline, and Daniel (Lori) Prokop of Burgettstown, grandchildren; Michael (Jill), Lisa (Paul), Ryan (Carrie), Joseph (Amanda), Matthew (Chelsea), Danielle (Steven), Dylan, great grandchildren; Macey, Cali, Nathan, Zachary, Barron and Archer Prokop, Alexis Polcawich, Peyton and Graci Aurandt, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by grandson, Justin Prokop, and sister, Norma Hall Sabol.
A gathering will be held at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, (412-678-6177) on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Burial will be held at the National Cemeteries of the Alleghenies. The family appreciates all social distancing guidelines be followed at the funeral home.
