Cliff Whitehead of North Huntingdon and formerly of Port Vue, died at (UPMC) McKeesport Hospital where he was born 82 years ago on August 26, 1938. He was the son of the late John and Helen Whitehead. Cliff was the devoted and loving husband of Sally (deceased) for 53 years.

Many people said Cliff was “one of a kind”. Over the years, he made many friends through his ventures in a variety of vocations and avocations including high school basketball at McKeesport under Cornelius “Neenie” Campbell, a stint in the U.S. Army where he entertained troops and civilians as a member of the singing group The Dinaros while stationed in Turkey, appliance specialist at Wander Sales and Kmart, positions in banking and finance including a colorful career as a collections agent (“repo man”), entrepreneur as owner of a Fox’s Pizza Den, chauffeur at The Lemon Tree, PIAA football and basketball official, and unofficial “Mayor of Sunset Valley” with the best neighbors ever.

In addition to his parents and his loving wife, Cliff was preceded in death by sister Eleanor Walsh, Brothers-in-law Paul (Duke) Norton and William (Bill) MacDonald. He is survived by his children Cliff (Skip) Whitehead, Jr. (Amy), Stephanie Stape (Gary), and Cori Fye (Bruce); grandchildren Kevin Stape (Courtney), Leanna Wetzler, and Justin Fye (fiancée Jenna); great grandchildren Kamden and Carson Stape, and Jackson and Adalyn Wetzler; Brothers-in-law David Norton (Deborah) and Jim Walsh, and sister-in-law Nancy MacDonald; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, a celebration of Cliff’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, perform an act of kindness in Cliff’s memory. In the words of his favorite singing group The Del Vikings, we can all hear him singing “Come Go With Me”. Arrangements made by the James W.
