Marvin Lewis Herren, age 84, of White Oak, died on Thursday, January 21, 2021. He was born in Braddock on November 8, 1936 and is the son of the late Oscar and Marie Danielson Peterson. He was employed for many years as a manager in various Thorofare Supermarkets in the produce department. He was a 62 year member of the Polaris Lodge #375, formerly Aliquippa Lodge, F & AM Masons, where he earned his 32nd degree. He was a member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon and Scottish Rite Valley of Pittsburgh, Faith Lutheran Church of White Oak, the Sons of Italy Band, and the Postal Workers Band. He loved to play the trumpet, was an avid reader, and a historian of museums and trains.

He is survived by sons, John Herren of Davie, FL; James Herren of Davie, FL; Marvin Herren of Pompano Beach, FL; daughter, Valerie Mahmoud of White Oak; brother, James Herren of Glassport; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will gather on Sunday, January 24, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). There will be a Masonic funeral service in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. On Monday, January 25, 2021 funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Michael Ryan officiating. Burial will follow.
