Beverly Ann McCormick Petkanics, 71, of West Mifflin, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2016 from multiple myeloma. Following are the words Beverly penned before her passing. “HAPPY IS THE HOME THAT SHELTERS A FRIEND”.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ann Donahue McCormick, Mildred Cready Abbott; best friends Joan Pforsich and Vicki Norgord. She is survived by Joyce McCormick Budd (Ralph), Sharon McCormick, Eileen Cready Price (David), Shannon Price Coburn (Sean & Charlie), Beverly Donahue, Kathleen Lucas (Steve), Douglas Norgord (Deb), Dear friend Charles Wisser, multiple cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was fortunate enough to have numerous friends, neighbors, classmates and coworkers who enriched her life, before and especially during her illness, with friendship, prayers and concern. Beverly was especially grateful for these gifts of love and friendship. A complete list of these loved ones would be impossible to make but definitely include John and Rose Marie Goodnight, Nancy Dunlap, Marilyn Anderson, Mary Vash, Mary Durney, Henrietta Hayden and all of the Schadles; Zora & George Payne, Karen Kaufman, the nurses on 3M, and Jane Zangaro. Arrangements have been entrusted to S. M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6th Street, Clairton, PA 15025. Graveside service will take place at Jefferson Memorial Park at 1:00 pm on Monday, August 1, 2016. Those attending are to meet at 12:45 pm at the Cemetery Admin. Bldg. Contributions may be made to Our Clubhouse (formerly Gilda’s Club), 2816 Smallman Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 for the multiple myeloma society.
