James John Palcsey, age 43, of Dravosburg, died on Thursday, April 1, 2021. He was born in McKeesport on June 5, 1977 and is the son of John Raymond and Dolores “Jean” Jackson Palcsey of Dravosburg.
James was a third-generation firefighter and life member of the Dravosburg Volunteer Fire Department #1where he served as vice president for many years. He also served on the Board of Control for Western Pennsylvania Firemen’s Association. He was a proud 1995 graduate of Serra Catholic High School. He was an avid Star Wars, Pittsburgh Pirates, Penguins, and Steelers fan. His welcoming spirit, gentle voice, and sincere kindness will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Michael (Stacy) Palcsey of Dravosburg; nephews, John “JP”, Joseph, and Nicholas; many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and fellow firefighters.
A gathering will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Strifflers of Dravosburg/West Mifflin, 740 Pittsburgh-McKeesport Blvd., Dravosburg, PA 15034 (412-678-6192) from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. when the fire department will conduct services. Friends are welcome to visit with the family until 8:00 p.m.
Family and friends are welcome to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Mary, Mother of God Parish, Corpus Christi Church, 2515 Versailles Ave, McKeesport, PA 15132 on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Richland Cemetery. Please continue to pray for the repose of his soul.
