Linda J. Stokes, 73, of Penn Township, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2021 at Forbes Regional Hospital.  She was born August 8, 1947 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Charles E. and Mabel A. (Murphy) Smith.  Prior to her retirement, Linda was an estate administrative assistant for BNY Mellon and was a member of St. Barbara Parish, Harrison City. She was a volunteer at the church for "The Kentucky Project", enjoyed reading, traveling with her family, and was the secretary of Young At Heart.    She is survived by her husband,  James Stokes; daughters, Holly Gilligan and her fiance, Richard Beatty, Katy Danilko and her husband, Nick; grandchildren, Cara and Julianna Gilligan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Sam Farmer, Charles Smith and sister, Eleanor Aker.  Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Barbara Catholic Church, Harrison City.  Interment to follow in St. Barbara Cemetery, Jeannette.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Barbara's Church for The Kentucky Project.
