Jacquelyn Clare Harvey was born May 5, 1929 in East McKeesport, PA to Mary and Roy Harvey. She attended Catholic Schools and graduated from Duquesne University in 1951 with her degree in Music. She was a woman dedicated to education her whole life.

Jackie taught music in PA before moving to St James where she taught music and was chorus director in the Middle Country School District for 25 years. She was an instrumental part of the New Lane School outdoor residential education program.

Jackie volunteered in her home town area in the Religious Education Programs carrying that love when she became a member of the Parish of Sts Philip and James. There she was honored by the Diocese of Rockville Centre with the St Elizabeth Ann Seton Medal, the Pope John XX111 Medal and the St Pius X award for her many years of service including being Religious Education Coordinator.

Jackie taught Bridge at OLLI as well as being an avid player. She enjoyed attending The Metropolitan Opera and Carnegie Hall. She gardened, picked berries and made jam. She loved trialing new recipes and serving friends the results. Her fondness of dogs led her to dog sitting. Never without her Rosary Beads, she prayed daily with the 3rd Glorious Mystery being her favorite.

When you met Jackie you always left with something more. She lived by her principles, not judging and she made it look easy. To know her was to know love.
