Angelo P. Sgroi, age 87 of Clairton, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 in the VA Hospital, Oakland.  Born January 27, 1934 in Clairton, he was the son of the late John & Vittoria (Polimeni) Sgroi.  A US Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Clare of Assisi Church, Angelo wore many hats in his lifetime but enjoyed driving truck over the road most of all.  He retired from GNC in his 70's, but continued driving occasionally for Uber & Lyft until recently.  He was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan, but more importantly a very generous and loving man whom everyone knew as "Uncle".  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Katie, Mary, James, Sam, John, Nick, Tony, Lou and Phillip, as well as several nieces and nephews.  His is survived by his Godchildren Angelia (Dusk Olson) Christina and Greg (Lisa) Nesterak, nieces, nephews; dear friends who loved him; and his faithful canine companion Edgar.

There is no visitation scheduled for Angelo and funeral services are private.  Arrangements by the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, 555 Fifth Street, Clairton, PA 15025 (412) 233-5700 www.bekavacfuneralhome.com
