Ella Mae Durkin, age 88 of West Mifflin, died Friday, August 26, 2016.  She was born in Homestead on May 20, 1928 and is the daughter of the late David and Ella Doerr McCanuel, and the wife of the late Matthew G. Durkin.  She was employed as Department Manager at Sears in West Mifflin until she retired; her favorite past time was reading her books.

She is survived by her children, Jeannie (Luke) Pasternak of Baldwin, David (Shawn) Durkin of West Mifflin, Russell (Laura) Durkin of Phoenix, AZ, Robert Durkin of Phoenix, AZ and Peter Durkin of Painesville, OH; grandchildren, Nicole Durkin, Jennifer and Christopher Beatty, Melissa Durkin, Melissa (Kris) Cumella, Erin (Mike) Higginbatham and Sarah Durkin; great-grandchildren, Ben and Molly.  She is preceded in death by her sister, Agnes Brent.
