Alphonse M. Nuzzo Sr., age 81, of Clairton, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 in Jefferson Hospital. Born, October 21, 1934 in Forward Township, he was a son of the late Tony and Katherine (Quinden) Nuzzo and the husband of the late Clementine DeFazio Nuzzo, who passed away August 30, 1980.

Alphonse was a retired Millwright for the US Steel Clairton Works and a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Clairton. He loved to hunt and fish. Alphonse is survived by sons, Anthony (Marianne) Nuzzo of McDonald, Darryl (Linda) Nuzzo of Elizabeth Twp., Dominic (Mary Ann) Nuzzo of Alpharetta, GA and Alphonse (Gina) Nuzzo, Jr. of Buford, GA; ten grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Nuzzo, Stephanie (Chris) Lowe, Dalton Nuzzo, Matthew Hodgson, Brittany (Jesse) Lester, Nicholas Nuzzo, Chelsea Saganich and Giavanna Nuzzo; two great grandchildren, Sarah and Joshua; brothers, Mike Nuzzo of Wampum, PA and Fred (Rose) Nuzzo of Ellwood City, PA; sister, Consiglia "Cyl" Nuzzo of Monongahela; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife , he was preceded in death by a grandson, Darryl Joseph Nuzzo; stepmother, Concetta Nuzzo; sister, Julia Anzalone and brother, Patsy Nuzzo. Friends will be received on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 10am in St. Clare of Assisi Parish, Clairton. Procession and burial will follow in St. Clare Cemetery, Clairton.
