Josephine G. (Urbanovich) Conte, age 94, of Elizabeth, passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Jefferson Hospital with her family at her side. She was a member of St. Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Michael Church in Elizabeth Twp. She attended the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf and was a member of the school's Seniors Club. She loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and enjoyed sewing, baking, and keeping a clean home. Born August 8, 1927 in Elizabeth Twp., she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Mary (Maciakowska) Urbanovich, and wife of the late Anthony H. Conte Jr. She is survived by daughter, Nora (Keith) Kelley; son, Anthony (Renee) Conte III; grandchildren, Natalie, Michele (Christopher) and Brian (Lauren); great-grandchildren, Haylee, Austin, Irelyn, Gwendolyn and Harrison; sister, Mary "Virginia" Davis; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Julia Guzanick, Stanley Urbanovich, Anna Hynok and Helen Liberto. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 11 AM until the time of blessing at 1 PM with the Rev. Thomas A. Wagner officiating. Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, 300 East Swissvale Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15218.
