Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | December 27, 2021
Barry Fredric Barnett, 85, of White Oak, left this world peacefully at home on Sunday, December 26, 2021.
Born on May 22, 1936 in Duquesne, PA, Barry was the son of the late Michael and Anna (Fedor) Barnyak. He shared 53 years of marriage with the rock and love of his life, Flo (Kolton), and was the beloved father of children Joy (Tim) Desmond, Barry (Kelly) Barnett, and Kristy (Todd) Alexander.
A veteran of the United States Air Force, he was a former engineer with Westinghouse Nuclear Division in Monroeville, a founding and active member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish and a volunteer at Redstone Highlands Senior Living in North Huntingdon. He was an avid Jeopardy! fan, loved crossword and number puzzles, Pittsburgh's pro and college sports teams, working out and traveling; most of all, he loved spending time with his family and furry friends, Shadow and Raven.
In addition to his wife and children, his memory will be cherished by grandchildren Brady, Brenna, Kaden, Tyler, Liam, Beckham and Gabe; brothers Robert (Marion) Barnett, William (Irene) Barnett and Earl Barnyak; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Eleanor Shaw.
Barry was an example of what we should all strive to be--a kind, loyal and loving human being.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held on February 4, 2022 at 10 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 200 Leger Road, N. Huntingdon, PA.
