Bernard J. Dobransky Sr., 84, of Irwin, died Saturday February 19, 2022. He was born November 25, 1937 in McKeesport, a son of the late John and Anna (Gacey) Dobransky and was also preceded in death by a brother Elmer Dobransky. Bernie was a retired employee of Westinghouse Electric Corp., West Mifflin, with 40 years’ service. He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church, Herminie, and an Army veteran.

Bernie was an avid golfer and bowler and was a member of a traveling bowling league. He was a huge Pittsburgh Pens and Steelers fan and was a coach and president of the former West Hempfield Recreational Association. He loved spending time with this family on the annual family vacation.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Mary Ann (Stoken) Dobransky; his children Bernard J. (Diane) Dobransky Jr. of Greensburg and Carol (Gary) Bendik of Gibsonia; his grandchildren Melissa Dobransky and Scott (Lauren) Dobransky; great grandchildren Mia, Abel, Robert, and Ryder; and other special family members, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main Street, Irwin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Edward Catholic Church. Private interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Masks are highly recommended to be worn at the funeral home and funeral mass. In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made to any veteran’s organization.
