Ernest G. Goettel, age 98, of Elizabeth, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022 at Bridgeville Rehabilitation and Care Center. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a retired pipefitter for US Steel Clairton Works. Born May 3, 1923 in Elizabeth, he was a son of the late Edmund and Bertha (Achtzehn) Goettel and husband of the late Katherine "Betty" (Gee) Goettel. He is survived by daughter, Michelle (Frank) Pipak of O’Hara Twp.; sister, Alma Jarvis of Monessen; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by sisters, Charlotta Cain, Iva Metz, Emma Joll and Yvonne "Bonnie" Garvin, and brothers, Brinton, Emmett "Bill" and Edmund Goettel.
