Edward J. Kulasa, 80, of Coulter, went home to the Lord, Monday, March 14, 2022. He was born in McKeesport on November 24, 1941 and is the son of the late Walter “Jerry” and Bertha Pochiask Kulasa of McKeesport. He worked as a machinist at Radform Tool Company in East McKeesport from 1969 to 1994 and worked at Guardian Construction at Keystone Commons in East Pittsburgh from 1994 until his retirement. He was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, Corpus Christi Church. Ed served in the United States Marine Corps from 1959 to 1965, and his home was a sanctuary for many years for Children and Youth Emergency Care Services. He was also a member of the White Oak American Legion Post #701. He loved the outdoors, the mountains, riding on his golf cart, and his dogs, Penny; Ellie Mae; Heidi; and Diesel.
He is survived by his second wife, Barbara Kulasa; children, Ed (Jamie) Kulasa of Coulter; Christine (Allen) Novacek of Sutersville; Jerri (James) Davis of Allison Park; Nicholas (Justine) Kulasa of North Huntington; Joseph Kulasa of Allison Park; Maria Kulasa of McKeesport; 16 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; step children, Susan Dansak of Elk Lick; Ken (Kathy) Dansak of Elizabeth; Tim (Bobbi) Dansak of Liberty Borough; 3 step-grandchildren; sisters, Gladys (Judi) Mrvos of McKeesport; and Monica (the late Byron) Handra of North Huntingdon.
In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Hutchison Kulasa and son, John Joseph Kulasa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Noon at Mary, Mother of God Parish, Corpus Christi Church, 2515 Versailles Avenue, McKeesport, PA 15132. Arrangements handled by Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). Burial will follow with military honors in Bigley Family Cemetery.
