John Michael Schmitt, 48, of Jeannette, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022 at his home. He was born March 31, 1974 in Jeannette, a son of the late Robert and Geraldine (Martchek) Schmitt. John was a graduate of Penn Trafford Senior High School and went onto graduate from Geneva College earning a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. He played defensive lineman for Geneva and was inducted into the Penn Trafford Hall of Fame and Geneva College Hall of Fame. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, John Wagner. He is survived by his daughter, Ashlee; brother, Jeremy; grandmother, Anna Wagner; loving friends, Robyn McGhee and BJ Howard; longtime friend and coach, Geno DeMarco; and many loving family members. There will be no visitation. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. in the Level Green Fire Hall, 536 PA Route 130, Trafford, PA 15085. A memorial service will take place at 4:30 p.m. Donations may be to Robyn McGhee to help with funeral expenses. Arrangements made by the James W.
