Edward J. Steindl, age 96, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. An Army veteran serving during World War II, he was a retired die maker for Fisher Body in West Mifflin. He was a member of St. Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Michael Church in Elizabeth Twp. where he was a Rosary maker. Born May 29, 1925 in Elm Grove, he was a son of the late George and Madalyn (Horner) Steindl and husband of the late Florence M. (Kazmierowski) Steindl. He is survived by his daughter, Carol Gioia of Rostraver Twp.; sons, Donald E. Steindl of Watkinsville, GA and Andrew G. (Teresa) Steindl of Dayton, ME; grandchildren, Matthew (Katie) Steindl of Raleigh, NC, Bradley Steindl of Boalsburg, Gregory Steindl of Auburn, ME, Brian (Amy) Dinello of Rostraver Twp., Lisa (Luke) Leyh of Washington, D.C. and Angela (BJ) Schneider of Ashland, OH; great-grandchildren, Gabreale and Alexa Dinello, Jayson and Liam Schneider, David, and Jordyn and Ryder Steindl; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by son, Eric A. Steindl, and grandsons, Erik Steindl and Ryan Steindl. A memorial gathering will take place on Friday, April 29, 2022 from 3-7 PM in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth. A memorial mass will be on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 9:30 AM in St. Michael's Church, Elizabeth Twp. with Rev. Thomas Wagner officiating.
