James C. “Gizmo” Sturms II

James C. “Gizmo” Sturms II, age 65, of West Mifflin, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022. He was born in Duquesne on December 13, 1956 and is the son of the late James and Gazella Sapos Sturms and the husband of the late Barbara Vamos Sturms, who died on November 29, 2012. He was employed as a union carpenter for many years. Giz was a very hard-working man and loved fishing, supporting local fire halls, and was a member of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).

He is survived by daughters, Rachel Mae (David) Webb of Salem, WV; Maria Rae (Brian) Kustra of Sheridan, PA; grandchildren, Hunter James Webb; Alina Mae Kustra; sisters, Gert (Roger) Frantish of Buena Vista, PA; Isabel (Tim) Cotero of Blythedale, PA; Lynda (Mike) Abbott of Henderson, NV; Jamie (Bob) Martin of West Mifflin, PA; his best buddy, Jimmy Boy; and loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by siblings, Clark; Eddie; and Pinky.

Family and friends will gather on Sunday, July 3, 2022 from Noon until 4:00 p.m. at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131. Services will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow.
