Edwin F. Yates, age 79, of Liberty Borough, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022 in UPMC McKeesport. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he retired as a millwright for U.S. Steel Clairton Works. He was a member of American Legion Daniel Keffer Post 75 in Clairton. Born October 19, 1942 in Clairton, he was a son of the late Frances and Margaret (Huschak) Yates. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lydia M. (Matej) Yates; son, Neil R. (Amy) Yates of Elizabeth Twp.; granddaughter, Jillian Yates of Elizabeth Twp.: sister, Bernadette (Thomas) Wargo of Tampa, FL; and niece, Jody Whitten of Delaware. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Sunday, August 28, 2022 from 2-6 PM. A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, August 29, 2022 at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ron Breight officiating. Private burial in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.
