Thomas John Knaus, 75, of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022 at his home. Tom was born in McKeesport, Pa. on April 11, 1947. He was preceded in death by his parents, John L. Knaus and Lydia Matias Knaus and baby son, Thomas. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 54 years, Marlene Terek Knaus. He is also survived by his son, Kevin Knaus of N. Huntingdon and by his remarkable grandchildren Juliet, Samuel and Ian, of Indiana Twp. He is also survived by his younger sister, Kathy Jo of Spring City, Utah. Tom grew up in Glassport, and graduated from Glassport High School in 1965. Tom was a fine all around athlete and enjoyed all the sports teams in the area. He was an avid golfer still waiting for the elusive hole-in-one. Tom attended California State College and graduated in 1969 with a bachelor's degree in education. He also received his masters degree in 1974. Tom taught 33 years in the Duquesne School District as an Industrial Arts teacher. Tom was a veteran of the US Army Reserves, assigned to the 46H Replacement Company in Pittsburgh. He received his honorable discharge in 1976. Friends will be received from 2-7 on Tuesday at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA 15642. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will be private.
