Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | October 11, 2022
Paula Lynn (Santoro) Pederson, age 68, of White Oak, PA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. She was born in Meadville, PA on July 6, 1954 and was the daughter of the late Angelo and Marjorie Henby Santoro.
Paula received her Master’s degree in teaching from Edinboro University. She was a retired McKeesport Area School District teacher where she taught both Special Education and Second Grade for many years.
Paula was well-known for her craftiness. She started in the 80’s with ceramic Christmas trees and dabbled with basket weaving in the 90’s. She was always there to sew beautiful heirloom pieces for her daughter and nieces. Her Christmas cookies and pies were the best around. Her latest hobby of jewelry making will be sorely missed. Paula was an avid reader and a member of a book club that she looked forward to each month. She loved trivia games and was the reigning Trivial Pursuit champion of family game night. Being Gaga to her grandchildren was her greatest joy.
She is survived by her husband, Keith Pederson and her daughter, Sarah (Nathan) Fedor of White Oak, PA. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Scarlett, Henry, and Lincoln. She will be missed by her sisters Angela (Mark) Sisco of Cochranton, Andrea (Jim) Beige of Saegertown, Jane (Pat) Spingler of Clarksville, TN, brother-in-law, Kenneth Work who resides in Conneautville, PA, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Amy Work.
Arrangements are being handled by Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131. (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). A celebration of life will occur during the warmer months next year.
