Elieen L. Szymarek

Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory

Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | November 29, 2022

Eileen L. Szymarek, 82, of White Oak, died November 27, 2022, at Independence Court of Monroeville. Born July 15, 1940, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Caroline (Trojinowski) Boullion and the wife of the late Donald R. Szymarek.

Eileen dedicated her life to caring for her family and home. In her early years, she was a majorette in high school and worked at G.C. Murphy Co. offices. Eileen was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, and attended Corpus Christi Church. She enjoyed many years of traveling with her husband while he was in the Coast Guard and making her yearly trips to Las Vegas. Eileen loved to talk to just about anyone, and she was notorious for shopping for the best deals. On Friday nights, you could almost always find her at the best local bingo. Her greatest joy of all was spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Eileen is survived by her daughter, Shari (Scott) Smith of White Oak; grandchildren, Lynsey (Todd), Justin (Megan), and Kristen; great-grandchild, Aubrielle and Tate; sisters, Joan Algeri of Versailles Borough, Sandy Warren and Debbie (Piekielek) Boullion, both of White Oak; also nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Eileen was also preceded in death by her son, Don Szymarek; brother, Arnold (Mickey) Boullion; and sister-in-law, Geraldine Gatto.
Family and friends will be received at the Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A blessing service will be held on Friday, 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Inurnment will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a later date.
