Gert E. Pfefferkorn, age 84, of North Versailles, died December 20, 2022, at home. Born March 23, 1938, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Butch Maurer and Stella (Lightner) Squier.

Gert worked as a waitress at the Mill Gate in Duquesne and as a car hop at Eat'n Park. She enjoyed crosswords, puzzles, bingo, and cards but especially loved feeding the local deer in her yard. Her family was the most important of her life, and she cherished every moment with them. Gert is survived by children, Dan (Dourene) Gobbel, Mark Gobbel, Eric Francis, and Pam (Brian Jacobs) Lasch Culp; grandchildren, Jacob (Alyssa) Culp, Nathan Culp, Dan Gobbel, Jr., Ryann (Jesse) Francis, Shane Francis, and Stacey Culp; great-grandchildren, Taylor Gobbel, Silas Vu, Bentley Vu, and Penelope Vu; She is also survived by nieces, nephews, her beloved cats, Rusty and Oreo and Pup Pup, the dog. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by grandchildren, Sean and David Gobbel; sister, Stella Gallagher. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, from noon until the funeral service at 4 p.m. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.jaycox-jaworskifh.com.
