John C. Oswald, 82, of North Huntingdon, formerly of Pitcairn, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2023. He was born July 7, 1940 in New York, New York and was the son of the late George D. and Marion (Kelley) Oswald. John worked for over thirty plus years for HUD. He attended The Pitcairn Assembly of God and formerly attended the Pitcairn United Methodist Church. He was a Mason and a retired member of The Pitcairn Fire Department #1. He met his wife of 64 years in Dunmore, PA and went on to have 3 children, 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren together. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and was an avid Pittsburgh Panthers and college football fan. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patsey Ann (Sherman) Oswald; children, John L. (Donna Lynn) Oswald of White Oak, Debra L. (Ken) Hess of North Huntingdon, and Mark D. (Karen) Oswald of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Kenny Hess, Kayla (Jamin) Irizarry, Jake Hess, Jonathan Oswald, Jordan (Jessica) Oswald, Grace Oswald, Emily Oswald and Miles Oswald; great-granddaughters, Laurel, Joanna and Chandler; sisters, Liz Yurkovic, Jane Cicconi, and Dobbie Martinelli; a brother, George (Lucia) Oswald and several nieces and nephews. Friends are welcome on Friday, January 27, 2023, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak (412) 672-6322 Troy J. Gilbert, Director. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 10:00 am with The Rev. Robert Morgan, officiating.
