Denise Rae Lennon, 74, of McKeesport, passed away Monday, December 15, 2025. She was born November 21, 1951 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Irving and Jean (Smith) Chotiner. Denise spent many years in the food and beverage industry, most notably as a bar manager, where her outgoing and fun loving personality made everyone feel welcome. A true people person with a big heart, Denise cherished her family deeply. She had a love for all things glamorous, especially jewelry,and never missed an opportunity to get dressed up. Her birthday was a favorite occasion and celebrated with a night out to dinner and, most importantly, a cake she truly savored every single year. She was bubbly, fun-loving, and full of life, Denise enjoyed watching classic films, with a special fondness for old horror movies starring Boris Karloff. She loved listening to oldies music, and her favorite song was “At Last” by Etta James. She also found joy in watching professional wrestling, cheering on favorites like Hulk Hogan and John Cena. She will be greatly missed.

Alvin P. "Al" Miller, 80, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025. He was born on April 3, 1945, in Charleroi, and was the son of the late Clifton William and Mollie Esther (Hitt) Miller. A proud 1963 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School, Al went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He completed his service as an E-5 Sergeant and was the recipient of several military awards in recognition of his dedication and service. Following his military career, Al spent many years as an operating engineer with Local 66. Known for his strong work ethic and dependability, he took great pride in providing for his family. Though his tough exterior might have suggested otherwise, those who truly knew Al understood that he was a gentle soul, a “teddy bear” at heart. He was deeply caring, loyal, and always ready to show up when he was needed. He will be greatly missed.

Dean Almon Finfinger, Jr., 76, of White Oak passed away at home on Friday, December 12, 2025. He was born March 19, 1949 in El Paso, TX and was the son of the late Dean Almon, Sr. and Mary Jane (Lewis) Finfinger. He was the loving husband of 52 years to his wife, Patricia (Gall) Finfinger. He recieved a Bachelor's in Education from California University of Pennsylvania, where he went on to teach shop class at Elizabeth Forward. He later worked for Eastmen Chemical Company in West Elizabeth as a Instrument Technician until his retirement. If you knew Dean, you loved him. He had a wonderful light about him that was infectious. His favorite saying was "it's all about the connections", and he lived by it. He knew people everywhere he went. His favorite past time was spending time with his grandchildren. Baseball holds a special place in his heart along with our entire Marauder Baseball family. He had a love for muscle cars, especially corvettes. He was a member of the Western Pennsylvania Corvette Club. Dean was his family's real life superman. He never lost his positive attitude and always made others laugh. He will be greatly missed by all of the people who loved him.

John Robert "Jack" Mayfield, 81, of Liberty Borough, passed away Friday, December 12, 2025. Jack was born January 14, 1944 in West Newton and was the son of the late John Henry and Margaret D. (Dale) Mayfield. He was the husband of the late Barbara Rose (Huemme) Mayfield, who passed away January 1, 2023. He was a graduate of Point Park College. Jack worked many years in the banking industry, working for the same company, but many locations and various name changes, now known as PNC Bank. It is there where he met his beloved wife, when they worked together in The People's Building in McKeesport. He was a member of Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church in Elizabeth Township. Jack was a simple man who enjoyed sitting in the same chair watching TV, some of his favorite things to watch were The History Channel, and How It's Made, to name a few. He enjoyed reading the newspaper, especially "the funnies". Jack was also a homebody who enjoyed puttering. He learned how to be handy around the house at his wife's persuasion. He will be greatly missed.

SueEllen Nangle, 72, of Elizabeth Township, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025. She was born on June 4, 1953, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late William and Doris Ann (Mital) Plavchak. She was a proud graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College. A lifelong educator at heart, SueEllen devoted many years to teaching home economics in the Elizabeth Forward School District. Her classroom was a place of patience, creativity, and encouragement, and she touched countless lives through her gentle guidance and genuine care for her students. SueEllen was a loving wife and aunt, a devoted friend, and the kind of neighbor everyone hopes to have. SueEllen was an avid bowler and was a member of The Lucky Strikes league at the former Brunswick Bowl in Rostraver. She was also a member of numerous other organizations and women's clubs. She was a familiar and beloved presence at Friday night football games, with her husband, Coach “Big Frank” Nangle, as they supported teams across Elizabeth Forward, Belle Vernon, Charleroi, and Ringgold. She was Frank’s greatest supporter, both in his coaching career and in his BBQ business. A gifted cook, crafter, and talented seamstress, SueEllen poured creativity into everything she touched. Whether stitching something by hand, preparing a favorite dish, or crafting a thoughtful gift, she expressed her love through her talents. Her warmth, generosity, and steady kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

LTC (Retired) Steven M. Lawrence, 75, of North Versailles was called home by our Lord December 9, 2025 surrounded by his wife and children. Steven was born February 23, 1950 to the late Peter and Helen (Cosgarea) Lawrence. He married the love of his life, Linda (Seiler) Lawrence, September 1, 1973. They have three children, Stefan (Heather) Lawrence, Sarah (Jeff) Shulkosky, and Peter Lawrence. He was loved by his grandchildren, Derek and Rachel "Leilani" Lawrence, and by Letha and Iziaha Lawrence. He will be greatly missed by his siblings, Robert, Nancy, and Amy. Steve graduated from Youngstown State University in 1973, received his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army, serving on active and reserve duty for 22 years. In 1985, he trained as a Quality Assurance Specialist for Defense Logistics. Steve served his country for 37 years, traveling overseas for 10 of those years. Steve loved his family first, the military, and the defense of his country. Mabel L. "May" Turkovic, 78, of Herminie 2, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg. She was born June 22, 1947 in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late Charles and late Loretta (Reali) Roberts. She was the wife of the late John M. Turkovic and longtime partner of the late Rick Horvath.
Mabel worked many years for St. George Crystal in Grapeville, where she made numerous lasting friendships. She was a strong spirited woman with a unique personality, and embraced life in her own distinctive way. She loved her cats, gardening, riding her motorcycle/scooter, and wolves. Despite numerous health challenges, she always put her family first, and offered support whenever it was needed. She made an impact on everyone she met, and her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched.

Daniel Regis Majzer, 90, of Versailles, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. He was born July 14, 1935 in Port Vue and was the son of the late Theodore and Susan (Cverna) Majzer. He was the loving husband of 59 years to the late Marcella Jane (Dunn) Majzer, who passed away on June 28, 2017. Daniel was a US Army Veteran and graduated from McKeesport High School in 1953. He then started his career at US Steel National Tube in inventory, before being drafted in 1958 and stationed in Alabama. He worked in the personnel office scheduling soldiers when they came in to be stationed. He returned to US Steel to finish his 31 year career there. He was also a landscaper and coached baseball and softball games for 20 years at Port Vue, McKeesport and the Legion. He always wanted to be a sports announcer and was able to do that during his time as a coach. He had a passion and knowledge of sports. He attended Steelers games for over 30 years and was a member of the Dobre Shunka Fan Club. He attended a few Super Bowls and traveled to Cleveland, Cincinnati, Buffalo, Houston and New Orleans for games. His commitment to the Steelers also followed suit with his dedication to his faith and trust in God. He was very well organized and frugal, enjoyed listening to sports radio, gardening, yard work, reading, walking, excercising, carrying the groceries and helping the elderly. He was not a fan of politicians, lazy people and products not made in the USA. Some of his favorite sayings were; "Get the heck out of here, Cheese and crackers, and Money doesn't grow on trees." He took care of things, owning only 4 cars over 49 years and the same lawnmower for 30 years.

Sean Edward Koon, 53, of Port Vue passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2025. He was born November 23, 1972 in McKeesport and is the son of Charles Gordon and Sharon Lynn (Sanner) Koon. Sean worked for CVS Call Center as a customer service representative for numerous years. However, he had a passion for all things nerd - Star Wars, video games, superheroes, movies, and even a deep love for football. For the past 10 years, his interest sparked the creation of a podcast called "The Pittsburgh Nerd" that he, and his cousin, Ian, worked on together. He had a wealth of knowledge and collective information about any topic that captivated his targeted audience each time. In addition to his parents, Charles & Sharon, Sean is survived by his sister, Traci Koon of Port Vue; his niece & goddaughter, Mayah Taylor Koon; his nephew, Jordan Thomas Phillips; his cousin by blood, brother by choice, Ian (Lisa) Bellamy; and by nieces Ana, Bri, and Elliot. Sean is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Gordon Koon. There are no services at this time. Joseph Anthony Cuda, 92, of Glassport, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025. He was born June 18, 1933 in Pittsburgh and was the son the late Anthony and Elsie (Mirenna) Cuda. Joseph was the husband of 59 years to the late Mary June Cuda, who passed away November 5, 2014. Joseph was the owner of numerous South Hills bakeries. He was the best baker in Southwestern Pennsylvania and even won awards in France for his Danish pastries. He was a master baker in his field. He will be greatly missed.

Dennis Neil Heath, Sr, 77, of Elizabeth Twp., died peacefully Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the Veterans Hospital, H.J. Heinz Campus, Aspinwall. He was born, July 5, 1948, in McKeesport, PA, a son of the late Everett & June (Johnson) Heath. He was a graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School Class of 1966. After graduating, he enlisted with the U.S. Army where he served as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War. He served most of his tour of duty stationed in Korea. After his honorable discharge, Dennis was employed for many years at Harbison Walker Refractory. Prior to his retirement in 2010, he was the owner and operator of Heath Dental Lab in Elizabeth Twp. Dennis enjoyed playing guitar & singing, model railroading, and flying remote control helicopters.

David Donald Greger, 85, of Elizabeth Township, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at home. He was born on March 21, 1940 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Stephen Joseph and Anna (Kakas) Greger. He was the beloved husband to Mary Jo (McGrail) Greger, celebrating 63 years of marriage on November 17, 2025. David was a US Army Veteran and worked for US Steel as a Draftsman and later as a clerk for the US Postal Service. David and his wife belonged to St. Michael Church and attended Divine Redeemer in Elizabeth. He loved to fish, garden and take care of animals, rescuing dogs. His greatest joys came from his grandchildren.

Elmer Vincent Ehser, 73, of McKeesport, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025. He was born January 20, 1952 in McKeesport and was the son of the late William Joseph and Anna (Dudek) Ehser. Elmer worked numerous jobs throughout his life including a stock person at the former GC Murphy Store in Turtle Creek, a laborer at the former US Steel National Tube, delivered medical supplies for UPMC McKeesport Hospital, and finally he was a driver for Valley National Gas, where he also filled oxygen tanks. He was an dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan, and loved playing bingo. He was known to travel all over the area with his bingo buddies to play. Elmer had a love of older vehicles,especially his Oldsmobile and was known to attend car shows throughout the area. He also enjoyed attending the summer concerts at Renzie Park. He will be greatly missed.

Robert D. "Bob" Thomas, 80, of Elizabeth Township, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. He was born June 4, 1945, in McKeesport and was the was the son of the late Robert James and the late Ruth Lillian (Haughton) Thomas. Bob was a 1963 graduate of West Mifflin South High School and spent his career as an electrician at the former Fisher Body Plant. He proudly served as President of UAW Local 544 for six years. He was proud of his community and served as an Elizabeth Township Commissioner for eight years and was also a member of Harry S. Truman F&AM Lodge 765 in Dravosburg. A man of remarkable skill and determination, Bob could fix anything, and if he didn’t know how, he would simply teach himself. He took great pride in his home, especially his yard and garden, and even built the shed in his backyard himself. Bob cherished the outdoors, especially fishing trips with his grandson Zachary and his friend Ralph Crousure, often visiting their favorite spots at Kinzua Lake and throughout Somerset, PA. He loved being a grandfather, some of his favorite times were watching Zachary play baseball or being a devoted “girl granddad” to his granddaughters. He loved listening to his son Chris play guitar and watching his son Scott wrestle and play soccer and was proud of all Kelly's accomplishments. Above all, he was incredibly proud of his children and was a wonderful and devoted husband. Some of his happiest moments were spent beside his wife, Charlene, whether relaxing together watching “The Voice,” “Tulsa King,” or their favorite history programs, or traveling to Amish Country in Holmes County, Ohio, where they enjoyed cheeses, jellies , and finding furniture. Bob also treasured the many trips he took with Charlene and his siblings to San Antonio, St. Augustine, Savannah, and Alaska. Bob will be fondly remembered for his warmth, his resourcefulness, his love of American Honey liquor, and especially his famous Thanksgiving stuffing, a family recipe passed down from his mother and now shared with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

(Mallen) Bock. She was a former member of Central Presbyterian Church in McKeesport. Deborah loved to crochet and spend time with her family, especially around Christmas and the holidays. She was a former Parking Garage Attendant for the City of McKeesport and received an associates degree from CCAC.
