Claudia J. Sowerby, 85, of Elizabeth Township, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 18, 2023. She was born January 10, 1938 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Charles and Jean (Schrieber) Hartzell. She was the wife of the late Frederick C. "Fritz" Sowerby who passed away September 7, 2013. Claudia was a member of the Milligans Cove Christian Church in Bedford.

She is survived by her son, David (Mary) Sowerby of Herminie, daughter, Cynthia (Jeff) Carson of Charleroi, grandchildren, Joshua, James, Dakota, Brandon, Sarah and Erin, great-grandchildren, Elijah, Paytyn, Billy, Kiya, Skylar, and Millie, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Hartzell. There is no visitation. Private graveside service and burial will be held at the Mount Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth Township.
