Carl Lee Gadsden, of Duquesne, Pennsylvania, peacefully transitioned October 14, 2016 at home.
He was born March 29, 1955 in McKeesport, PA, son of Leavy Gadsden and Ella Washington Gadsden.
Former volunteer for The Salvation Army. Carl proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War Era. He also attended Tennessee Tech and Texas A & M.
He worked as a Home Health Aid.
Surviving are wife, Linda Gadsden of Pittsburgh; three daughters, Kendra Wainwright of Atlanta, GA, Clarissa Gadsden of Penn Hills, Danika Gadsden of Pitcarin; two sons, Carl Jones of Bay City, TX, Carl Gadsden, III of Swissvale; fifteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two brothers, Leavy Gadsden of McKeesport, Larry Gadsden of Houston, TX; two sisters, Marie Austin of Brooklyn, NY, Leola Gadsden of Brooklyn, NY; devoted companion, Ronay Ecklin, nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving friends.
Friends will be received Thursday from 9-10 a.m. at the St. Paul A.M.E. Church 1350 Locust Street, McKeesport, PA 15132, where services will immediately follow at 10 a.m. with Rev. Jeffrey Tate, officiating.
Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, Pennsylvania.
Arrangements entrusted to the Robert A. Waters Funeral Home, Inc., McKeesport, PA.
