Doris Jean (Simpson) Francetic, age 84, of Port Vue, passed into eternal life on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Alvin and Elizabeth (Betty) Simpson of McKeesport.She retired as an Administrative Assistant from NuVision Engineering after beginning her career at McKeesport's G. C. Murphy Co. headquarters. When her daughters were young, she was a stay-at-home mom, creating delicious home-cooked meals and providing a caring and loving home filled with music. Doris shared her love of music with the Elizabeth Forward Community Chorus and the former Wesley United Methodist Church in White Oak, where she was a very active member of the choir and a featured soloist. She was the happiest when surrounded by her family, with whom she left many cherished memories.
Doris is survived by her loving children, Ellen (Lee) Caranese, Laura (Jim) Evans, and Karen (David) Puc; granddaughters (their "Gram DJ"), Michelle and Lauren Evans, Erica and Amanda Bailey, and Kyra Puc; the light of her life great-granddaughter Sutton Kugler; sister Ruth (William) May, best friend and caregiver Helen Miller, loyal and loving canine companion Daisy Mae, aunt Theresa Mcinnis, nieces Ruth McGhan-Zimmerman and Cindy May, and many cousins. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her brother, Alvin (Sonny) Simpson, and nephew Stephen Simpson.
Family and friends will be received at the Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home and Crematory on Sunday, July 9, 2023, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8. Funeral services will be held at 10 Am Monday, July 10, 2023, in the Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park.
