Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | August 10, 2023

Charles Walter “Chad” Zowacki, II., passed on Friday, August 4, 2023 in Indiana, PA where he lived and ran his business with his fiancé, Amber Snyder, daughter, Madelyn Zowacki and intended step-daughter, Riley Davis.  Chad was born on October 8, 1990 at McKeesport Hospital and was raised in the town of Sutersville, which always remained “home” no matter where life took him.  Chad was the owner, operator, salesman and heart of the roofing company he began in 2017, Riley Madelyn Roofing, LLC. Chad worked tirelessly to build and grow his business and the success he achieved in life was hard-earned and well-deserved.  He was proud, honored and enormously grateful for the crew that he had the privilege of working with everyday, for the customers who entrusted him with their homes and for the overwhelmingly positive feedback he continuously received from the community; having won numerous awards, year after year, for the quality of work and customer service he became known for.

Over the years, Chad not only built a business that had been able to give his children a bright and advantageous future, but he also directly helped or inspired countless friends and family through employment opportunities, business partnerships and his motivational and inspirational “talks.”  He constantly strived to stay positive, motivated and to always be working toward a goal, both professionally and personally. Chad’s love and passion for success and professional achievements were second only to the love he had for his family.  Chad was a son and a buddy, a grandson and a late-night couch companion, a brother and a friend, an uncle and a hero, a soulmate, partner and serenader, a step-dad and co-conspirator of “not telling mom how much we bought at the store.” He was a father and the best snuggler/back scratcher/boxing instructor/pal a little girl could ask for. Chad’s family didn’t just include the people he was related to; Chad’s family extended to many friends, some that he still talked to regularly and some that he hadn’t spoken to in years.  Once Chad considered a friend his family, they were his family for life and he never stopped loving them or helping them when he was able.  He wasn’t just the type of guy who would give the shirt off his back, he’s literally the guy who has, many times, whether it was in his best interest or not, whether he had the means or ability to replace what he was giving, given the actual coat, shirt, shoes, etc. off of his own body to someone else who he felt needed it more than himself.  The people lucky enough to have been in Chad’s life know; to know him was to love him.  He was magnetic and electric in every possible way.  His bright smile and the unmistakable sound of his pure, genuine, one-of-a-kind laughter made everybody else smile with him, no matter the situation.  The enthusiasm he had for life was contagious; he stirred excitement in people’s minds and hearts and made the most impossible dreams seem not only possible but easy to achieve.  Many will miss Chad; it will be impossible not to. He was the champ champ, the legend, the main character for so many, for so long. May he now, finally, get to slow down, rest, relax and find the eternal peace his soul deserves. Chad is survived by his fiancé, Amber Snyder; daughters, Madelyn and Riley; his father, Charles Zowacki; mother, Georgia Wood; grandmother, Rose Zowacki; aunt, Kimberly Zowacki; sister, Keli Flanigan (Zowacki); his niece and nephew, Faith and Ethan Flanigan; an extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as countless friends whom he considered family. Chad was preceded in death by his grandfather, Chester Zowacki, his beloved dog Bandit, and many friends he had lost over the years. There is no visitation at this time. Arrangements are by the Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J.
