Kenneth Leon Woods, Sr., age 73, of Pittsburgh, died at home on August 26, 2023.  Born October 9, 1949, in East Chicago, IN, he was the son of the late Charlie Sr. and Eugene (Cole) Woods.  Growing up in East Chicago, Kenneth was a track and football star in high school.  He was the halfback on the football team and a record holder for many years in the 100-meter dash.  He enjoyed watching football and was a die-hard Steelers fan.  Kenneth was an avid fisherman and passionate about making his lures and trying them out on the shores of Lake Erie.  He was a self-taught photographer and especially loved taking photos of his family.  Kenneth cherished many trips to the casinos of Atlantic City and locally with his brother Robert.

Kenneth is survived by a daughter, Chiquita Prince; grandchildren, Zantaya "Grannypoo" Woods, Zy'Qyan "Pudamans" Woods, Ken'Nyrah "poopa scoop" Woods,  Casperman Ball, Travion Swoaks, Ta'liah Cristler, Trashon Cristler, and Noaha Berry; great-grandchildren, Za'mira, Za'Kir, and Za'Nora Swoaks; brother, Robert (the late JoAnne) Woods; Goddaughter, Kelli Reynolds; niece, Kathleen Marshall.  He is also survived by caretaker, Latoya "Mama Toya" Ball, Bridget "My Beyoncé" Ball, and Tiona Bennett.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Woods, Jr., and a brother, Charlie Woods, Jr.  Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at Noon.  Condolences and memories may be shared at www.willigfuneralcremationservices.com.  Charles Danforth, Supervisor
