Anna Tarr, 85, of White Oak, died Friday, October 28, 2016. She was born January 27, 1931 in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Tizedez Halasz. She was the wife of the late Frank Tarr who died May 18, 1985. Anna was a member of St. Angela Merici Church where she formerly taught CCD. She was also a former member of the Ladies of Charity and the Carmelite 3rd Order.
She is survived by her children, Marianne (Regis) Belback of Steubenville, OH, Michael (Yvonne) Tarr of Elizabeth, Theresa (John) Stroup of Greensburg, Frank (Trina) Tarr of Irwin, and Katherine "Kate" (Barbara) Tarr of Elizabeth Township, grandchildren, Gregory, Sarah, Maria, Justin, Jessica, Angela, and Joshua, and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Paul Halasz. Friends are welcome Sunday, October 30 from 2-4 and 6-8:00 pm, at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak, (412) 672-6322 Troy J. Gilbert, Director. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, October 31, at 11:30 am. at St. Angela Merici Church with The Rev. Kevin Dominik, officiating. (Everyone please meet at the Church). Interment will follow at the Corpus Christi Calvary Cemetery-Port Vue. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at 412-395-2873.
